Pre-teaching
I provided direct instruction on the content and vocabulary related to the Holocaust. Students took focused notes, and we had a class discussion based off their questions.
-
Deliverable 1: Independent Analysis
Students read their assigned portion of the novel independently and completed analysis to bring to the whole group.
-
Deliverable 2: Group Analysis
Students re-read their portion of the novel and completed a group analysis assignment.
-
Deliverable 3: Further Independent Analysis
Students independently completed a thorough analysis of their section of the book and submitted their analysis on Google Classroom. This was done independently because I had a substitute on this day, but in the future, I plan to continue doing this independently as I believe it strengthened their presentations.
-
Deliverable 4: Group Presentation
Students were to create a group presentation on their portion of the book. They then presented these in class in order.
